Collective Bargaining
Collective Bargaining Negotiation is a process that covers all negotiations which take place between the employers’ organizations and the trade unions.
According to the Labour Act [Chapter 28:01], section 2 the term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is defined as an agreement negotiated following the Act which regulates the terms and conditions of employment of employees.
In simple terms, collective bargaining is a process whereby employers and employees through their representatives collectively seek to reconcile their conflicting interests by way of mutual adaptation. It is mandatory for the Council and its Committees to carry out Collective Bargaining.
We administer all or any, Collective Bargaining Agreements arrived at by all of our seven sectors under the provisions of the Act.
